EDL Bingo!

As many of you will know the English Defence League are planning to come to Bristol on the 21st of July EDIT: now moved to the 14th of July.  There has been a facebook event created for the counter mobilisation. Of course this  event was quickly filled up with wall posts from EDL supporters attempting to intimidate, wind up and generally troll those attending.

We initially contemplated joining the debate, or making posts of our own to wind up the EDL. However we realised it would be far more productive and far more fun to instead create a handy bingo card of the things the EDL say.  So here it is, the Bristol Anarchist Federation ‘EDL Troll Bingo Card’.

  • Help maintain your sanity whilst debating with the far right!
  • Score one over on the EDL without having to feed the trolls!
  • Compete with your friends, who can get their card filled first?
  • For one or more players. Download yours today!

Before trying to prove (and failing) how witty you are, use a spell checker next time. You’re supposed to be the smart ones. LOL!

    • Bristol Anarchist Federation

As you might have guessed, not a lot of time went into it, and MS Paint doesn’t have a spell checker we’re aware of.

You may have noticed the bingo card didn’t mention anything to do with spelling or grammar, which would’ve been quite easy with many of the comments on the FB event. This was deliberate because we don’t look down on or laugh at people because they can’t spell due to poor education, dyslexia or a variety of other factors.

It’s an often repeated myth (by the EDL) that they are the only working class organisation, and that anarchists are all well-educated, middle class folks that look down on those that aren’t educated to the same extent.

I think your post shows this isn’t true – the anarchists aren’t intellectual elitists and its the EDL that has supporters who laugh about bad spelling when the rest of the members aren’t paying attention.

So thanks for that I guess?

We didn’t set out to prove we were witty, everyone already knows that 😉
